“Thor” is also known as banana stem and it is one of the favorite recipes among the Bengali people. You can make lots recipe using “thorr”. Today I am going to show you how you can make Thor biryani in easiest way.

Ingredients to make thorr Biryani:



  • Banana stem (Thorr) 250gm
  • Rice (Basmati) 500gm
  • Ghee 100ml
  • Garam Masala Powder ½ teaspoon
  • Kismis 10gm
  • Kasu 10gm
  • Salt according to taste
  • Sugar according to taste
  • Red chili powder ½ teaspoon

  • Procedure to make this Biryani:


    Soak rice in a pan for ½ an hour and keep it aside.
    In a frying pan add ghee, Green Chili, Garam masala and Thorr and stir them for 5-10 minutes.
    Add soaked rice in the mixture and add other ingredients like: kismis kasu and red chili powder.
    Finally add salt and sugar according to your taste. After ½ an hour you can eat a healthy and tasty Thorr biryani.
